Rishikesh is a famous tourist destination situated in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand state. It is located
in the foothills of the Himalayas in North India and is known as the 'Gateval Himalaya gateway' and
'Yoga Capital of the World'. The town is located at about 25 km north of Haridwar and 43 km
south-east of capital Dehradun. It is known as a pilgrim town And it is considered one of the
most sacred places of the Hindus. In ancient times, the rishis and the Munis had meditation,
yoga and prayer here. In 2015, the then Tourism Minister gave Rishikesh and Haridwar the title
of "Twin National Heritage Cities" of India. If you are planning to go to Rishikesh, then we are

1.Laxman Jhula (Rishikesh)

Laxman Jhula is a famous place in rishikesh and hanging bridge on the river Ganga which connects
the zonk (Jonk) of Tapovan and Pauri Garhwal district of Tehri Garhwal district. Laxman Jhula is located
5 kilometers north-east of Rishikesh city. The entire bridge is made of iron and it is 450 feet long
and is situated at an altitude of 70 feet from river Ganga. Lakshman Jhula is very famous among
tourists in Rishikesh's tourist spots. It is believed that Lord Laxman, the younger brother of Lord
Rama, is located at this place, the river Ganga Where the bridge is now built to see tourists.
Lakshman Jhula was constructed in 1929. Important places around Lakshman Jhula include the
tehra Manjila temple, Lakshman temple and Ram Jhula.


2. Triveni Ghat

Triveni Ghat situated on the banks of river Ganga is the place of three holy rivers - the confluence of Ganga,
Yamuna and Saraswati. These rivers are considered as exceptionally sacred and pure in Hinduism. It is believed that by submerging in holy water on the Triveni Ghat, the inner interference of the person
becomes pure; all sins Freedom from stress and fear is attained. Triveni Ghat is a crowded Ghat on
the banks of River Ganga, in which pilgrims bath around. An amazing sight is seen during this evening'

6.Vashishta Cave

Vashishta Cave is an ancient cave where the son of God Brahma's son Rishi Vashishta meditated. According to legends, the sage was very sad after losing all his children and he decided to commit suicide, but the river Ganga did not allow him to die. Therefore, they decided to stay in the cave and meditate. There is a Shivling in the cave and it has been kept by the Purushot tamanand Society. A large number of people gather here to see this ancient cave.
